Applies To: All vendors listing products on Comilmart.com across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, and all other supported African countries.

To ensure the safety, legality, and trustworthiness of the Comilmart marketplace, the following categories of products are strictly prohibited from being listed, sold, promoted, or distributed on our platform.

1. Illegal, Counterfeit & Unauthorized Products

  • Counterfeit items (e.g., fake designer goods, knockoffs)
  • Stolen goods
  • Unlicensed copies of software, movies, or music
  • Pirated media (CDs, DVDs, USBs with pirated content)
  • Unauthorized replicas or lookalikes of branded goods
  • Products violating intellectual property rights (trademarks, copyrights, patents)

2. Hazardous, Banned or Restricted Substances

  • Explosives, fireworks, or pyrotechnics
  • Poisonous chemicals (e.g., pesticides, mercury, cyanide)
  • Toxic industrial substances or lab reagents not permitted by law
  • Asbestos or asbestos-containing materials
  • Unlabeled chemicals or controlled substances without permits

3. Weapons and Ammunition

  • Firearms, handguns, rifles, or shotguns
  • Ammunition, gunpowder, or reloading materials
  • Stun guns, tasers, pepper spray
  • Explosive devices or components
  • Military gear restricted by export controls

Note: This includes decorative weapons that closely resemble real firearms.

4. Unapproved Drugs, Medication & Health Products

  • Prescription drugs sold without proper license
  • Herbal or traditional medicines banned by health authorities
  • Unregistered weight loss or enhancement pills
  • Steroids or hormone therapies without regulation
  • COVID-19 “miracle cures” or unverified vaccines

Vendors must be certified to sell supplements, baby food, or medications and must comply with NAFDAC (Nigeria), FDA (Ghana), or national equivalents.

5. Tobacco, Alcohol, and Controlled Substances

  • Cigarettes, cigars, snuff, or vapes
  • Alcoholic beverages without appropriate licenses
  • Cannabis or cannabis-derived products (CBD, THC)
  • Opioids, narcotics, or other controlled substances
  • Hookah, shisha, and accessories marketed to minors

Note: Even legal products in one country may be prohibited elsewhere.

6. Human Parts, Ashes, or Biological Specimens

  • Human organs, tissues, bones, blood
  • Urine, semen, or other body fluids
  • Hair used for rituals or fetish practices
  • Grave goods or burial artifacts

7. Endangered Species & Wildlife Products

  • Ivory or items made from ivory
  • Rhino horn or pangolin scales
  • Exotic leather (python, crocodile, etc.) not certified
  • Trophies or hunting artifacts from protected species
  • Unlicensed sale of live animals or exotic pets

Refer to CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) guidelines.

8. Hate Speech, Extremist or Offensive Materials

  • Books, movies, or audio promoting violence or terrorism
  • Propaganda from banned organizations
  • Material inciting racism, tribalism, or hate
  • Holocaust denial, genocide glorification, or hate symbols

9. Occult, Witchcraft & Ritual Materials

  • Human skulls, bones, or effigies
  • Witchcraft kits or “money ritual” items
  • “Charm” powders and oils sold with illegal claims
  • Black magic or fetish objects associated with harm

These are illegal or culturally sensitive in several African countries.

10. Restricted Technology & Devices

  • Signal jammers or surveillance equipment
  • SIM cloning devices or spyware
  • Decryption tools or hacked media boxes
  • Hacking devices or penetration tools

11. Unsafe or Banned Children’s Products

  • Lead-painted toys
  • Expired baby food or formula
  • Car seats, cribs, or walkers recalled internationally
  • Unlabeled plastic toys with choking hazards

12. Illegal Services & Financial Products

  • Gambling software or tools
  • Counterfeit currency or fake documents
  • Fake educational certificates, IDs, passports, or licenses
  • “Work-from-home” scams or Ponzi schemes
  • Investment frauds, crypto schemes without registration

13. Unauthorized Religious, Political or Cultural Content

  • Unauthorized religious relics or artifacts
  • Books encouraging political violence
  • Content banned in specific African states
  • Materials disrespecting local laws/customs

14. Lottery & Betting Items

  • Unlicensed lottery tickets
  • Sports betting scripts or APIs
  • Unapproved casino tools or betting software

15. Other Products Banned by Local or Regional Law

Each country may have its own restricted or regulated items. Comilmart complies with all:

  • National Communications Authorities (e.g., NCC, CAK)
  • Consumer Protection Agencies
  • Standards Authorities (e.g., SON, KEBS, GSA)
  • ECOWAS, EAC, and AU trade rules

Enforcement Actions

Vendors who list or attempt to sell any prohibited products will face:

  • Immediate product takedown
  • Fines up to ₦100,000 / $200
  • Account suspension or permanent ban
  • Reporting to local authorities (if criminal law is breached)

Periodic Review

Comilmart updates this Prohibited Product List regularly to reflect legal, safety, and consumer protection changes. All sellers are responsible for staying informed.
