Mattress Prices in Nigeria (2026): Foam, Orthopaedic and Spring

October 21, 2026

Mattress prices in Nigeria depend on four things: the type (foam, orthopaedic or spring), the size, the thickness and the brand. A small foam mattress can cost under ₦30,000, while a large orthopaedic one can pass ₦500,000. That is why a single "price" is meaningless until you know the size in feet, the thickness in inches and the foam density. This guide sets out the dated price ranges we read in October 2026 from manufacturers' and publishers' pages, explains foam vs spring mattress price differences, and shows how to compare Vitafoam, Mouka and other brands fairly.

Much of the most detailed price data comes from a manufacturer, Olive Foam, which also lists a competitor's prices. Read that as one company's view, and confirm with each seller. Prices move with the naira rate and with raw material costs.

Mattress sizes and what they mean for price

Olive Foam's mattress price guide, last updated 28 August 2026, lists the sizes sold in Nigeria: 2.5 by 6 feet (small or cot), 3 by 6 (single), 3.5 by 6 (medium), 4 by 6 (standard), 4.5 by 6 (double), 5 by 6 (queen), 6 by 6 (king), 7 by 6 (extra wide) and 7 by 7 (extra large). Size and thickness both raise the price. The guide describes thickness bands like this: below 6 inches is the lowest tier, 6 to 8 inches is mainstream and often the best value for everyday use, 8 to 10 inches is upper mid-market to premium, and 10 inches and above is premium or specialist.

Always give the seller three numbers: width, length and thickness. "6 by 6" without the thickness could mean prices that differ by tens of thousands of naira.

Foam mattress prices in Nigeria: Vitafoam and others

Foam covers the widest price range. Olive Foam's guide gave these market bands: entry or student mattresses at ₦13,000 to ₦40,000 and mainstream foam at ₦40,000 to ₦180,000. It listed starting prices of ₦13,004 for Mouka Comfy and from ₦26,850 for Vitafoam, which are the lowest-price entry points, not typical prices.

For Vitafoam in particular, a Nigerian Queries page published 22 July 2026 listed ranges by size, all at 8-inch thickness unless stated:

Vitafoam line and sizeRange listed
Vita Supreme, 6 by 3.5 ft₦32,000 to ₦35,000
Vita Supreme, 6 by 4 ft₦37,000 to ₦42,000
Vita Supreme, 6 by 6 ft₦55,000 to ₦65,000
Vitafoam Orthopedic, 6 by 4.5 ft₦90,000 to ₦100,000
Vitafoam Orthopedic, 6 by 6 ft₦115,000 to ₦130,000
Vita Spring Super, 6 by 6 ft₦80,000 to ₦90,000

The page noted that prices may change and that one 6 by 6 foot, 10-inch model appears twice with different prices. That kind of inconsistency is a reason to ask your seller for a quote in writing.

Mattress prices in Nigeria: Mouka vs Olive Foam comparison

Olive Foam also published a Olive Foam vs Mouka price list, updated 12 August 2026. Because the manufacturer wrote it, the Mouka figures are as listed by a competitor. For example, it showed the Olive Orange range against Mouka Comfy like this:

  • 4 by 6 ft (48 by 75 inches), 6 inches thick: ₦59,145 against ₦54,781
  • 4 by 6 ft, 8 inches thick: ₦75,749 against ₦72,929
  • 6 by 6 ft (72 by 75 inches), 8 inches thick: ₦109,027 against ₦109,270

For orthopaedic grades the same page showed an Olive Full Orthopaedic 54 by 75 inch, 8-inch mattress at ₦273,274 against a Mouka Wellbeing Regal at ₦284,695. The takeaway is that prices at the same size and thickness can be very close across brands, so compare foam type and warranty terms as well as the label. We are not ranking any brand, and these lists do not prove that one is better.

Orthopaedic and spring mattress prices

Olive Foam's guide put orthopaedic mattresses at roughly ₦95,000 to ₦350,000 and above, spring mattresses at ₦170,000 to ₦450,000 and above, and hybrids at ₦250,000 to ₦840,000 and above. It advised two points worth remembering. First, "orthopaedic" is not a regulated term in Nigerian retail, so check the actual model, density and warranty. Second, long warranties can signal stronger construction; its Full Orthopaedic collection carries a 10-year factory warranty.

Foam vs spring mattress: price, comfort and lifespan

In a foam vs spring guide published 16 July 2026, Olive Foam said foam is silent with strong pressure relief and no metal to corrode in humidity, with a lifespan of roughly 4 to 10 years depending on density. Open-coil springs have better natural airflow but can rust in high humidity (5 to 7 years), while pocket springs are quieter and may last 7 to 10 years or more. These lifespans are the manufacturer's estimates, not independent test results.

It also gave density bands in kilograms per cubic metre: under 25 is economy (about 2 to 4 years), 25 to 40 is medium, 40 to 55 is high density, and 55 to 80 and above is orthopaedic grade. For heavy sleepers it suggested at least 55 kg per cubic metre and about 12 inches of thickness. Density is the figure many shoppers forget to ask for, so ask the seller for it in writing. A cheap mattress at the same thickness as a dearer one often has lighter foam.

How to buy a mattress without overpaying

  1. Measure the bed frame and note width, length and the thickness you want.
  2. Ask for density and warranty terms in writing, including what the warranty excludes.
  3. Press and test in person if you can. No online description replaces the feel of the product.
  4. Compare delivery cost as part of the price, since mattresses are bulky.
  5. Keep the receipt and ask what happens if the foam sags early.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a 6 by 6 mattress in Nigeria? It depends on type and thickness. In the sources above, an 8-inch Vita Supreme was listed at ₦55,000 to ₦65,000, an 8-inch Olive Orange at ₦109,027 and a Vitafoam Orthopedic at ₦115,000 to ₦130,000.

Which is better, foam or spring? Neither is better for everyone. Olive Foam says foam is silent and does not rust, while springs offer airflow but may corrode in humid places.

What is the cheapest mattress in Nigeria? Olive Foam listed a starting price of ₦13,004 for Mouka Comfy, but that is a starting point for a small, thin size.

Does "orthopaedic" mean the mattress is medical grade? According to Olive Foam, it is not a regulated term in Nigerian retail, so check the model details and warranty.

Can I buy mattresses in bulk on Comilmart? You can send a request for quotation with sizes, thickness and quantity, and approved suppliers can respond.

Next step
