Requests for quotation

Turn Buyer Requirements into Business Opportunities

Buyers submit sourcing requirements with the product, quantity and delivery country. Approved suppliers browse open requests on their RFQ board and respond with a quotation, or talk to the buyer directly.

Illustrative scenario — not an actual Comilmart transaction
An African solar installation company needs 500 solar panels for a commercial project. It submits an RFQ specifying technical requirements and quantity. Relevant suppliers may respond with their commercial offers.

Supplier verification

Building Trust Between International Suppliers and African Buyers

Buyers want to know who they are dealing with. Every supplier completes the Know Your Supplier (KYS) process, and a verified badge is only awarded after the Comilmart team has reviewed the application. Registering does not award it automatically.

Verification confirms that applicable checks have been completed. It does not guarantee product quality, supplier performance or transaction outcomes.

What the application covers

  • Company registration number and registration certificate
  • Business licence
  • Tax number (and VAT number where applicable)
  • Company address, authorised contact person and website
  • Company profile, mission, vision and photos of your actual products

Cross-border trade

Clear Responsibilities for International Trade

International trade works best when everyone knows who is responsible for what.

  • Genuine product documentation
  • Export eligibility and applicable export requirements
  • Pricing and commercial quotations
  • Agreed shipping arrangements and Incoterms
  • Relevant product warranties and after-sales commitments

African buyer

  • Confirming product suitability
  • Applicable import permits and approvals
  • Customs clearance and import duties, according to the agreed transaction terms
  • Import compliance and local product standards
  • Agreed payment and delivery responsibilities

Comilmart

  • Providing the digital marketplace and the communication and RFQ tools
  • Applying supplier verification and platform policies
  • Supporting platform-related enquiries
  • Enforcing applicable marketplace rules

Comilmart is a digital marketplace connecting buyers and suppliers. Unless expressly agreed in writing, Comilmart is not the importer, exporter, customs broker, freight forwarder or seller of products listed by independent suppliers. Shipping, payments, duties, taxes, warranties and other transaction responsibilities depend on the terms agreed between the parties and applicable laws.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can manufacturers outside Africa register on Comilmart?
Yes. The supplier application is open to manufacturers, exporters and suppliers outside Africa. You enter your company's country and business address in the application, and every application goes through verification review.
Which countries can register?
The application does not limit you to a particular country: you enter your own. Each application is reviewed individually, and your products must comply with the export rules in your country and the import rules in the buyer's country.
Is supplier registration free?
Yes. The Standard supplier plan is free. Paid plans (Starter at US$99 per year, Verified at US$300 per year, Verified Pro at US$800 per year) are optional and add features such as faster verification, search ranking boosts and higher quotation limits.
Are there product listing fees or commissions?
There are no listing fees to get started. Plan prices are shown on this page. For any other charges that may apply to transactions, please read our Terms and Conditions or contact our team.
How do African buyers contact international suppliers?
Buyers can send you a request for quotation, message you through Comilmart's chat, and browse your product listings and company profile. You respond to them directly.
How does the RFQ system work?
Buyers describe what they need, including product, quantity and delivery country. Approved suppliers browse open requests on the RFQ board in their dashboard and send quotations. The Standard plan includes up to 10 quotations to buyer requests; higher plans raise or remove that limit.
How does manufacturer verification work?
You submit the Know Your Supplier (KYS) application with company details, a business licence, a company registration certificate, tax details and product photos. The Comilmart team reviews it and emails you the decision. Verification confirms that applicable checks have been completed. It does not guarantee product quality, supplier performance or transaction outcomes.
Does Comilmart handle international shipping?
No. Suppliers arrange shipping with the buyer. Comilmart is a digital marketplace and is not a freight forwarder, customs broker or importer or exporter of listed products, unless expressly agreed in writing.
Who pays customs duties and import taxes?
That depends on the terms agreed between you and the buyer, for example the Incoterms in your quotation, and on applicable law. Agree these terms in writing before you ship.
Can suppliers sell in bulk?
Yes. Comilmart is a wholesale B2B marketplace, and listings are built for bulk orders and business buyers.
Can suppliers specify minimum order quantities?
Yes. You can set minimum order quantities on your product listings, and buyers see them before they request a quote.
What currencies and payment methods are supported?
Buyers can view prices in their preferred currency. Payment terms for international orders are agreed between supplier and buyer. For details of supported payment methods, please contact us.
Does Comilmart guarantee sales or buyer enquiries?
No. Comilmart provides the marketplace, the listing tools and the RFQ and chat channels. We do not guarantee enquiries, orders or revenue.
How do suppliers get support?
Use our contact page to reach the team by email, call or WhatsApp.
