Gas Cooker Prices in Nigeria (2026): Table-Top and Standing
Comilmart Team
October 21, 2026
Gas cooker prices in Nigeria range from under β¦20,000 for a basic two-burner table-top to several hundred thousand naira for a large standing cooker with an oven. The sticker price is only part of the cost, though. You also need a cylinder, a regulator, a hose and a refill, and those add up. This guide sets out the dated price ranges we read in October 2026, compares table-top and standing cookers, explains what a 4-burner gas cooker price covers, and notes what a cylinder and a refill cost according to the sources we could read.
All prices are listed prices from retailer guides and a news report on official statistics. They move with the naira rate and with location, so confirm with the seller before you pay.
Table-top gas cooker prices in Nigeria
A table-top cooker sits on a counter or stand and suits small kitchens, students and bachelors. Zit, an online electronics store, published a table-top gas cooker guide dated 5 August 2026. It stated these ranges: β¦18,000 to β¦55,000 for a two-burner and β¦65,000 to β¦145,000 for a four-burner. Example listings in that guide:
- Nexus two-burner, basic: β¦18,500
- Skyrun two-burner, basic: β¦19,500
- Polystar two-burner, auto ignition: β¦38,000
- Nexus four-burner, stainless: β¦65,000
- Polystar four-burner, glass top: β¦88,000
- Haier Thermocool four-burner, glass top: β¦95,000
- Scanfrost four-burner, premium glass: β¦128,000
Zit suggests a two-burner for one or two people with limited space, and a four-burner for households of three or more who cook several dishes at once. It also warns against paying a large premium for automatic ignition, saying it often fails within one to two years in humid conditions, so keep matches or a lighter as a fallback. Zit sells these products, so treat that as retailer advice.
Standing gas cooker prices with oven
A standing cooker has a built-in oven and stands on the floor. Zit's large kitchen appliance guide, dated December 2025, gave these ranges:
| Type | Range quoted |
|---|---|
| 4-burner standing, with oven | β¦130,000 to β¦350,000 |
| 5-burner standing, with oven | β¦200,000 to β¦420,000 |
| 6-burner standing, with oven | β¦270,000 to β¦600,000 |
| Built-in gas hob | β¦90,000 to β¦250,000 |
A different list, a Nigerian Queries price page dated 9 August 2026 (its title says April 2026), showed lower figures for many standing models: a Polystar four-burner with oven at β¦60,000 to β¦80,000, an LG Maxi four-burner with oven at β¦40,000 to β¦57,000, a Nexus three-burner plus electric hot plate at β¦40,000 to β¦50,000 and a Scanfrost six-burner at β¦225,000 to β¦250,000. The page also listed one Ignis model twice at different prices, which shows why you should check model numbers. The gap between the two sources is large, and it is worth taking seriously. It may reflect different dates, different build quality or different sellers, so ask for a written quote.
What a 4-burner gas cooker price includes
When two shops quote very different prices for a 4-burner gas cooker, compare these features before you compare naira:
- Table-top or standing. A standing cooker with an oven costs more than a table-top with the same number of burners.
- Top material. Zit recommends thick tempered glass or heavy-gauge metal tops and heavy cast iron grates.
- Ignition. Automatic ignition, as noted above, adds cost and may fail sooner.
- Oven size. The Zit large kitchen guide gave oven capacities from 45 litres to 120 litres.
- Accessories. Ask whether the price includes a regulator, hose and cylinder. Zit listed a Haier Thermocool two-burner described as sold with a 12.5kg cylinder and hose at β¦49,236, so read each listing carefully to see exactly what is in the box.
Gas cylinder cost and refill price
The cooker is not the only purchase. In the same Zit guide, a gas regulator with meter and a 3-yard hose was listed at β¦10,600, a complete 3kg camp cylinder at β¦26,400, and a 12.5kg stainless cylinder at β¦75,000 (the listing showed a previous price of β¦86,000).
For the refill itself, official statistics are the best guide. The National Bureau of Statistics publishes a monthly LPG price watch. A news report dated 29 September 2025 quoted the NBS figures for August 2025: an average of β¦16,195.07 for a 12.5kg refill and β¦6,404.02 for a 5kg refill. That is the most recent NBS-based figure we could read, so refill prices in October 2026 may be different. Ask your local gas plant or retailer for today's price per kilogram, and keep in mind that location matters.
Gas cooker safety and installation
Zit's guides give practical safety advice that applies to any brand:
- Use a certified gas fitter to install the cooker and connect the cylinder.
- Test connections for leaks with soapy water and replace the gas hose every two to three years.
- Keep a standing cooker at least 60cm from walls, as the guide recommends.
- Buy from sellers who give a receipt, a warranty card and a serial number you can check.
If you live in a rented flat, ask the landlord whether a standing cooker fits the kitchen and whether gas is permitted in the building. If you cook for a business, such as a canteen or small restaurant, compare cooker size and burner output against your menu, and check our guide to home appliances sold in African markets to see what suppliers offer.
