Laptop Prices in Ghana 2026: HP, Dell, Lenovo, MacBook (New vs Used)

If you are checking the laptop price in Ghana before you spend your money, the first thing to know is that there is no single price for "an HP" or "a Dell". Listings we reviewed on Jiji Ghana in early October 2026 ran from under GH₵1,000 for a basic Lenovo 100e to over GH₵18,000 for a new gaming machine, and two laptops with the same name can sit thousands of cedis apart depending on the processor generation, RAM, SSD size and whether the unit is new or used. This guide shows the real ranges by brand, so you can tell a fair ask from an overpriced one.

Laptop price in Ghana: what the October 2026 listings show

The figures below are asking prices from Jiji Ghana listing pages viewed in early October 2026, mostly from sellers in Accra and Tema, with others in Kumasi and Kasoa. They are not receipts, and sellers can change them at any time. Laptop prices in Ghana move with the cedi exchange rate and with what is in stock, so treat every number here as a starting range and compare it against live offers before you pay.

The simplest way to read the market is in three tiers:

• Used business laptops, Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD: roughly GH₵2,250 to GH₵3,800. Examples seen include a Dell Latitude 5400 at GH₵2,250 to GH₵2,500, an HP ProBook 640 G4 at GH₵2,300 to GH₵2,450 and an HP EliteBook 840 G6 at GH₵3,800.
• Used business laptops with 16GB RAM and a newer processor: roughly GH₵3,000 to GH₵5,100. Examples include a Lenovo ThinkPad L490 (16GB) at GH₵3,000, a Dell Latitude 5510 at GH₵3,100, HP EliteBook 840 G8 units at GH₵3,650 to GH₵4,000, and a Dell Latitude 5420 (Core i7, 16GB) at GH₵5,100.
• New business and mainstream laptops: roughly GH₵2,850 to GH₵9,000. A new Latitude 5400 was listed at GH₵2,850 (8GB) and GH₵3,650 (16GB), a new HP EliteBook 840 G8 at GH₵5,100, a new HP ProBook 440 G10 (Core Ultra 5, 16GB) at GH₵8,200, and a new HP EliteBook 640 G11 at GH₵8,900 to GH₵9,000.

HP laptop prices in Ghana

HP is the most heavily listed brand, and the EliteBook range dominates the used market. On the pages we reviewed, used EliteBook 830, 840 and 850 models from the G5 to G7 generations were mostly priced between GH₵3,400 and GH₵4,700. Newer or more premium units cost more: an EliteBook 840 G10 (Core i7, 16GB) was listed at GH₵8,500 and an EliteBook x360 1040 G9 at GH₵7,099 to GH₵7,900.

For everyday family or student use, a used HP Pavilion 15 with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD was listed at GH₵4,900, while older Pavilion models with hard drives were around GH₵1,200 to GH₵1,300. At the top end, a new HP OmniBook X Flip 14 (Core Ultra 5, 16GB, 512GB SSD) was listed at GH₵13,000. Gaming-style HP Omen units appeared both used (GH₵6,200 to GH₵11,500) and new (GH₵5,850 for an older Omen 15), so check the generation and graphics card carefully.

Dell laptop prices in Ghana

Dell's Latitude line is the business workhorse. Used Latitude 5400, 5510 and 5591 units were listed between about GH₵2,250 and GH₵3,100 when they had 8GB to 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. A Dell Inspiron 14 5410 (Core i5, 16GB) was GH₵4,600.

The XPS range shows how wide the spread can be. Used XPS 13 units were listed from GH₵2,900 for an older Core i5 model to GH₵8,500 for a 9310 and GH₵12,000 for a 9320, while used XPS 15 units ran from about GH₵5,900 to GH₵9,650. A new XPS 13 9315 was listed at GH₵14,000. When one model name covers prices this far apart, the year, processor and condition tell you more than the badge on the lid.

Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad prices in Ghana

Used ThinkPads are the value picks. Older models such as the T440p (GH₵1,950) and T460 (GH₵2,799) sit at the bottom, while the T470s and T490s with 8GB to 16GB of RAM were listed at about GH₵3,500 to GH₵3,800. A ThinkPad X1 Carbon (8GB, 256GB SSD) was about GH₵3,372 to GH₵3,550, and a ThinkPad X13 Yoga (16GB, 512GB SSD) GH₵5,200.

New Lenovo listings covered a very wide range: a basic Lenovo 100e at GH₵950, a 500e at GH₵2,699, and a new LOQ 15ARP9 gaming laptop (Ryzen 7, 16GB, 1TB SSD) at GH₵18,500. If a seller advertises a ThinkPad as "new" at a very low price, look closely at the model number and processor, because old stock can carry the "new" tag.

MacBook prices in Ghana

MacBooks are where the largest gaps appear. Used M1 MacBook Air units (8GB, 256GB) were mostly listed around GH₵5,600 to GH₵7,500, with a 16GB/512GB unit at GH₵8,500. Used M2 MacBook Airs ranged from GH₵5,500 to GH₵11,500 depending on year, RAM and storage, and one new M2 Air (8GB, 256GB) was listed at GH₵10,000. Used Intel MacBook Pros from 2018 and 2019 were GH₵4,750 to GH₵7,550, and older 2013 to 2017 models GH₵2,370 to GH₵3,970.

Two cautions from the listings themselves. One "Brand New" M1 Air carried a description saying "Preowned", and a listing titled as an M1 turned out to be a 2018 Intel model. Always read the full description and confirm the chip in the About This Mac screen before you pay.

New vs used laptops in Ghana: what to check

Used business laptops are popular because a machine built for office use often costs far less than a new consumer laptop with similar speed. The trade-off is wear. Before you hand over cash for any used laptop:

• Check battery health and how long it really lasts on a charge, not just that it powers on.
• Test every key, the trackpad, all USB and charging ports, the camera and the speakers.
• Look for screen marks, hinge looseness and cracked corners.
• Confirm the exact specs (processor generation, RAM, SSD size) match the advert, and open the system information page yourself.
• Ask the seller what warranty or return window they offer, and get it in writing or in the chat history. Warranty terms differ between sellers, brands and new versus used units, so do not assume one applies.

With a new laptop, buy from a seller who gives a receipt and states the warranty terms clearly, and check that the box, serial number and specs agree.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a laptop in Ghana? In early October 2026 listings, used business laptops started around GH₵2,250, new mainstream models around GH₵2,850 and up, and MacBooks and gaming laptops ran well above GH₵5,000. The right figure depends on the specs and condition.

What is a good laptop for a student in Ghana? For most coursework, look for a Core i5 or Ryzen 5 class processor, at least 8GB of RAM (16GB if you can afford it) and an SSD. Used ThinkPad, Latitude and EliteBook models often meet that for less than a new laptop.

Is a used MacBook worth buying in Ghana? It can be, if the battery is healthy, the chip and storage match the advert and the seller lets you test it. Prices for the same model varied widely in the listings, so compare several before you commit.

Are the prices in this article fixed? No. They are asking prices from early October 2026 and will move with the exchange rate and stock.
