B2B Product Listing That Wins Buyers: A Manufacturer's Guide

Buyers scanning a wholesale catalog make a decision in seconds. A B2B product listing that wins buyers answers their first questions without a phone call: what is it, how big is it, what is the minimum order, what does it cost at my quantity, can I trust the maker, and how fast will you reply? This checklist is for factories and suppliers listing on Comilmart or any B2B marketplace. It applies the same logic whether the buyer is in Lagos, Accra, Nairobi or Kampala.

Write a title buyers actually search

Put the product name first, then the details a buyer filters by: material, size or capacity, pack type and use. For example, "Stainless steel kitchen sink, 2-bowl, 120 cm" is more useful than "Quality premium sink best price." Skip words like "best" and "cheap". They tell a buyer nothing and make your product look like everyone else's. Our guide to writing product listings that win orders covers the basics.

Give specifications in a clear table

Buyers compare specs side by side. List dimensions, weight, material, colour options, capacity, voltage and plug type where relevant, shelf life, pack size, carton quantity and carton weight. Use the same units throughout. If a spec varies by batch or season, say so. Honest, complete specs reduce the sample requests and arguments that cost you time later. See also how products must suit local conditions in products for the African market: heat, dust, voltage and power.

State your MOQ and tiered pricing

A minimum order quantity (MOQ) and price tiers show buyers what happens as their order grows. For example: 100 to 499 units at one price, 500 to 999 at a lower price, and 1,000 or more at a lower one again. The numbers should come from your own costs, not from what competitors show. Say what the price includes, such as ex-factory or delivered, and the currency. Comilmart's B2B catalog displays MOQs and tiered pricing, and our guide to setting MOQ and price tiers for African wholesale buyers shows how to build them. Be aware that for B2B orders, suppliers arrange and pay for shipping and delivery; Comilmart does not handle freight, customs clearance or duties. Spell out your delivery terms; FOB, CIF and DDP terms are explained in our quoting guide.

Show certifications and registrations

For regulated goods, buyers look for proof. Add your registration numbers and certificates where they apply, for example a NAFDAC number in Nigeria or an ISO certificate if you hold one. Only list approvals you actually have, and keep a copy ready for buyers who ask. SON, for example, says a product certified under its MANCAP scheme receives a certificate and a logo with a unique identification number. See NAFDAC registration for cosmetics and skincare and ISO 9001 certification for small manufacturers for how those are earned.

Add a barcode number if you have one

If your product is barcoded, put the GTIN in the listing. GS1 says many marketplaces check GTINs against its public database (see GS1's page on selling online), so numbers that are not issued to your company may be rejected. Read how to register with GS1 Nigeria.

Use photos that prove the product

Use clear, well-lit images on a plain background: front, back, side, pack, label and a size reference. Show the real product, not a catalog picture from another source. Add a photo of the carton and of your production line if possible.

Image limits depend on your supplier plan on Comilmart: Standard allows 3 images per product, Starter 4, Verified 5 and Verified Pro 7. Choose your best three first: the main product, a close-up of the detail or label, and the packed carton.

Respond quickly and clearly

Buyers who send a request often contact several suppliers. A short, specific reply with price, MOQ, lead time and sample terms stands out. Prepare reusable answers about samples, lead time, payment terms and packaging. On Comilmart you can browse open buyer requests and respond with a quotation, or chat directly with the buyer. Read how to respond to an RFQ and win African buyers. We cannot promise orders or response outcomes, but speed and clarity improve your chances.

A quick pre-publish checklist

  • Title has product, material, size and use.
  • Specs are complete and use consistent units.
  • MOQ, price tiers, currency and price basis are stated.
  • Certificates and registration numbers are real and current.
  • Photos are clear and show the actual product and pack.
  • Lead time and delivery terms are written down.
  • Contact and reply times are realistic.

Also follow our product listing policy for suppliers and avoid items in the prohibited list.

Example of a stronger listing

For example, a supplier of packed seasoning could replace "Best quality seasoning cheap" with a title naming the flavour, the pack weight and the carton count. The listing would then show ingredients, shelf life, the carton size, a MOQ of full cartons, three price tiers, the registration number of the product and photos of the pack, the label and the carton. A buyer reading it can work out the order cost and check the approval without sending a message, and the supplier receives fewer vague questions and more serious requests.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos should a B2B listing have? As many as your plan allows and your product needs. On Comilmart the limits are 3, 4, 5 or 7 per product depending on plan.

Should I show prices publicly? Showing tiered prices helps buyers decide. Tell buyers what is included and when prices can change.

What MOQ should I set? Base it on your production run and costs, not on guesswork. See our MOQ guide.

Do certificates really matter? For regulated or higher-value products, yes. Buyers often ask for proof before ordering.

Does a better listing guarantee orders? No. It makes it easier for buyers to evaluate you.

Getting started

Apply to list at /apply-manufacturer. The form asks for your company registration number, tax number, business licence and registration certificate uploads, at least two sample product images, your mission, vision and core values and at least one B2B category. It is free, and review is stated as about 24 to 48 hours. Once approved, build every B2B product listing with the checklist above.
