Laptop Prices in Nigeria 2026: HP, Dell, Lenovo, MacBook (New vs UK-Used)

October 8, 2026
If you are checking the laptop price in Nigeria this year, the first thing to know is that the same machine can cost very different amounts depending on whether it is brand new, refurbished or UK-used, and on which seller you ask. This guide uses listings we checked in October 2026 to show realistic naira price bands for students, office workers, gamers and MacBook buyers, and what to inspect before you pay. Prices move with the dollar rate and stock, so treat every figure below as a snapshot, not a quote.
Laptop price in Nigeria by use: what each budget buys
On a large Nigerian marketplace's laptop page in early October 2026, the cheapest entries were small Chromebook-style machines (Celeron processor, 4GB RAM, 16GB to 64GB of storage) at roughly β¦95,000 to β¦110,000. They browse and run web apps, but they are not a good fit for Microsoft Office-heavy work or large downloads.
The busiest band for students and office workers was business-class laptops from HP and Dell. Examples from the same page: a Dell Latitude 7490 with a Core i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD at β¦400,000, the same family with 16GB RAM at β¦430,000, an HP EliteBook 840 G6 (Core i5, 8GB, 256GB) at β¦420,000, and an EliteBook 840 G7 touchscreen (10th-gen Core i5, 16GB, 512GB) at β¦560,000. Step up to a Core i7 with 32GB RAM and a 512GB SSD and the EliteBook 840 G6 was listed at β¦650,000.
These are older-generation models. The listings did not label them as refurbished or UK-used, so ask the seller directly what the condition is (more on that below).
New laptops: HP, Dell, Lenovo and Asus prices
Machines that look like current retail stock cost noticeably more. An HP Laptop 15 with an 11th-gen Core i5, 12GB RAM and 256GB SSD was listed at β¦770,500 with a one-year warranty. A Lenovo V15 G4 (Core i5-1335U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) was listed at β¦1,178,624 on a separate Nigerian retailer's site. An Asus Vivobook Go 14 (Intel N150, 8GB, 256GB) was β¦437,900, which shows how much the processor matters: a low-power N-series chip is far less capable than a Core i5 at a similar price.
At the top of the range, thin OLED laptops such as the Asus Vivobook S14 (Intel Core Ultra 7, 16GB, 512GB) were around β¦1,311,300, and an Asus Zenbook Duo (Core Ultra 9, 32GB, 2TB) was β¦2,822,500.
Gaming laptop price in Nigeria
For gaming or video editing you are paying for the graphics card. The listings we saw included an HP Victus 15 (13th-gen Core i5, 16GB, 512GB, RTX 4050) at β¦1,550,000, an Asus TUF Gaming F16 (Core 7 240H, 16GB, 1TB, RTX 4050) at β¦1,576,700, and an Asus TUF Gaming A16 (Ryzen 7, 16GB, 512GB, RTX 5050) at β¦2,066,198. If you only play light games, a good Core i5 laptop with an SSD will cost far less.
MacBook price in Nigeria
MacBook prices are the hardest to pin down. One Nigerian retailer listed a MacBook Air 13.3-inch with an M1 chip, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage at about β¦1,506,994, and did not state whether the unit was new or used. Several popular price-list pages still show MacBook figures dated years back, which are no longer realistic. Before you pay, check the exact model year and chip, and confirm in writing whether the unit is sealed, open-box or used. Ask for the serial number so you can check coverage on Apple's own website.
New vs UK-used laptops (Tokunbo): what to check
UK-used or Tokunbo laptops are the reason a Core i5 business laptop can cost less than half the price of a comparable new consumer laptop. The saving is real, but so is the risk. Use this checklist when you inspect one:
- Battery health. One Nigerian buying guide (August 2026) suggests treating a battery cycle count above roughly 300 as a sign of wear. Ask the seller to show the battery report, and expect a tired battery to cost extra to replace.
- Storage type. Insist on an SSD. The same guide advises avoiding laptops that only have a hard drive, even if the "1TB" figure looks generous.
- RAM and processor. It recommends at least 8GB RAM and a Core i5 or Ryzen 5; a Core i3 can do on a tight budget, and Celeron or Pentium chips are best avoided for study or office work.
- Screen, hinges and keyboard. Look for dead pixels, loose hinges and worn keys. Test every port and the webcam.
- Locks and accounts. Make sure there is no BIOS or administrator password and no company-management lock left on the machine.
- Be careful with struck-through "was" prices. One listing we saw showed an original price of β¦9,000,000 beside a β¦630,000 laptop. Compare the current price against other sellers, not against the crossed-out number.
Where to buy laptops in Nigeria and what warranty to expect
Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos, is widely described as West Africa's largest phone and gadget hub, and a 2020 BusinessDay report lists laptops and accessories among what is sold there. Buying in person lets you test the machine, but it also means you need to check seller reputation yourself. Online marketplaces and retailer sites give you listing pages, delivery and returns, which is often safer for first-time buyers.
Warranty varies a lot. The HP Laptop 15 above came with a one-year warranty. A pre-owned HP 15s (11th-gen Core i3, 8GB, 256GB) on a certified pre-owned retailer's site was listed at β¦708,000 with a 12-month warranty and a 10-day return window, against a listed new price of β¦1,095,000. By contrast, some used-laptop sellers offer no formal warranty at all, so get any promise in writing and keep your receipt.
Specs that matter for students and office work
For most people the order of importance is: an SSD of at least 256GB, 8GB of RAM (16GB if you multitask or edit), a Core i5 or Ryzen 5 class processor, and a Full HD screen of 14 to 15.6 inches. Battery life of around seven hours or more is a sensible target. Backup power matters too: if your power supply is unreliable, see our guides to generator prices in Nigeria and solar panel and inverter prices for keeping a laptop charged.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest laptop price in Nigeria? Basic Chromebook-style laptops were listed from about β¦95,000 in October 2026, but they have limited storage and power. For general study or office use, expect to start from roughly β¦400,000 for an older-generation business laptop with an SSD.
Is a UK-used laptop better than a new one? It can be better value for the money if it is a business-class model in good condition, with a healthy battery and an SSD. A new laptop gives you a clean warranty. Check the condition and warranty of any used unit carefully.
How much is a MacBook in Nigeria? A MacBook Air M1 (8GB/256GB) was listed at about β¦1.5 million by one retailer, though condition was not stated. Verify the model year, chip and whether it is new before paying.
