Sourcing & Trade Guide
Korean Auto Parts Suppliers: Gyeonggi and Incheon Export Guide

Around Seoul, the belt of industrial estates stretching through Gyeonggi Province and into Incheon holds an enormous amount of quiet manufacturing, including many Korean auto parts suppliers. Small plants in places such as Ansan, Siheung, Hwaseong and Incheon's Namdong district machine brackets, stamp housings, mould plastic components, assemble wiring harnesses, and make circuit boards, sensors and chargers. Many of them have spent years as second- or third-tier suppliers, selling to larger firms rather than to end customers.
That position is comfortable until it is not. If your largest buyer reduces volume or your plant has capacity to spare, you need other routes to market. Spare parts importers in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, the UAE and Qatar buy continuously, because vehicles and electrical equipment need maintenance long after they are sold.
This guide is for owners and sales managers at parts and electronics factories who want to be found by those buyers. It covers how importers search for products like yours, how to describe fitment and specifications, which certificates matter, and how to quote and ship without surprises.
How importers search for Korean auto parts suppliers
A parts buyer does not browse like a retail shopper. They arrive with a part number, a vehicle model and year, or a drawing. They may also be looking for a replacement that matches an original component in dimensions and material but costs less.
Typical search terms include:
- A part name plus a vehicle make and model, such as brake pads, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, shock absorbers, filters, hoses or gaskets
- A cross-reference or OE number
- A category such as "suspension parts", "cooling system" or "engine mounts"
- An electronics need such as "LED lighting driver", "power adapter" or "battery charger"
If your listing contains the numbers and names buyers type, you appear in the right searches. If it only says "high-quality auto parts", you do not.
Describing fitment and specifications properly
The most common reason parts enquiries go nowhere is vague information. A buyer in Dar es Salaam or Dubai cannot afford to import a container of the wrong part. So be precise.
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Part name and your part number | Lets buyers identify the exact item |
| Cross-reference or OE number, where you are entitled to cite it | Confirms fitment |
| Vehicle make, model, year range and position (front, rear, left, right) | Prevents wrong orders |
| Material, finish and dimensions | Shows quality level |
| Pack quantity and carton weight | Helps freight planning |
| Brand or unbranded option | Matters for distributors with their own label |
Be careful with brand names. Describe fitment honestly, do not imply that your part is an original-equipment item if it is not, and do not use trademarks in ways you are not entitled to. Buyers value straightforward honesty over inflated claims.
Where you make both aftermarket and OEM-grade parts, explain the difference in quality grade, warranty terms and price. Distributors often stock two tiers and want to understand each.
Electronics: what changes
Electronics suppliers in the Gyeonggi corridor face slightly different questions. Importers will ask about voltage and plug types, power ratings, operating temperature, casing material, and whether products carry safety markings. Gulf and African markets use a mix of mains standards and plug types, so list the electrical specifications clearly and say whether you can supply country-specific versions.
Product videos are particularly useful here. A short clip showing a device switching on, a charger delivering power, or a lighting unit at full brightness answers a number of questions at once. Comilmart listings support product videos, along with specifications, certifications, MOQ, tiered pricing, lead times and samples.
Certificates, standards and quality systems
Quality documents carry real weight with parts buyers, because their own customers depend on safe components such as brakes, steering parts and electrical items. Common documents and standards that buyers may ask about include:
- ISO 9001 quality management certification
- IATF 16949, the quality management standard widely associated with the automotive supply chain
- Material test reports or inspection reports for critical items
- Product safety or conformity markings for electrical goods, such as the Korean KC mark and, for some destinations, others such as CE
- Test reports from recognised laboratories
Do not claim a certificate you do not hold, and make sure the certificate covers the product or site you are offering. Importing countries operate their own conformity and pre-shipment inspection systems, and these differ by country and product. Confirm what applies with your customs broker, freight forwarder or the destination authority before shipping. This article is general information, not legal advice.
Pricing, MOQ and lead times for parts
Parts pricing works differently from consumer goods. Buyers often order a mixed range, and they compare against local alternatives.
- Set an MOQ per item and a mixed-container option. Many importers prefer to combine several part numbers in one shipment.
- Offer price tiers. A pallet price, a carton price and a container-load price show you can grow with the buyer.
- State the lead time for stock items and for custom runs. Custom stamped or moulded parts may need tooling, and the buyer should know the cost and timeline before ordering.
- Provide samples. For a new relationship, one or two samples to test fit and finish can be the difference between enquiry and order. State who pays.
- Quote an Incoterm. FOB Incheon or FOB Busan is a common starting point. Others quote CIF to a named port at the buyer's request.
Heavy metal parts and fragile electronics ship very differently. Parts should be oiled or coated where needed against corrosion on a humid sea voyage, individually bagged or boxed, and loaded to avoid shifting. Electronics need anti-static protection and strong inner packaging. Label cartons with part numbers so the buyer's warehouse can check goods against the packing list.
Comilmart includes a landed-cost calculator and shipping rate tools that buyers can use to estimate delivery costs, and ComilExpress is Comilmart's own logistics service. These are planning aids. Do not promise delivery dates you cannot control.
Getting listed with Comilmart
The path is short. Apply for free on the manufacturer application page. Comilmart reviews your company details, registration number, tax or VAT number, business licence, certificates, logo and sample product photos. Approved companies receive a Verified badge. After approval you can create listings and respond to buyers.
Buyers can post sourcing requests and receive quotations through RFQ sourcing, and they can chat with suppliers and make offers and counter-offers. A buyer might post a request for a specific suspension component or a batch of chargers, and you can respond with a quotation if it matches your range. Trade Assurance is available as a general protection feature; read how it works before relying on it.
Comilmart is run by Macver Technology, with a team based in Qatar and buyers mainly in Africa and the Middle East and Gulf. It can help buyers find you, but it cannot guarantee orders.
Frequently asked questions
Can a small parts workshop sell abroad? Yes, provided you can supply consistently, state an MOQ and describe the part clearly. Many buyers start with trial orders.
Do I need to name the vehicle models my parts fit? Yes, where it is accurate. Fitment is the first thing parts buyers check. Be honest about what has been verified.
Should I show factory photos? Yes. Photos of your production line, inspection area and finished stock help buyers who cannot visit.
Can I sell both parts and electronics? You can list both. Keep product categories separate so each listing has the right specifications and certificates.
Next step
If you run one of the Korean auto parts suppliers or electronics plants in Gyeonggi or Incheon, apply as a manufacturer and prepare your documents, certificates and photos. To understand how importers describe their needs, browse the manufacturers directory and the sourcing requests page.
